The Hoodiebuddie, Marijuana, and a Nuclear Apocalypse. My Rainy Sunday Thoughts.
I woke up today and I didn't know what to write. Did you ever have one of those days? I have ideas, but the ideas are larger than the time available to write them down. So I'm giving you this. Not so much ideas, but rather thoughts about ideas.
Hoodiebuddie: A sweatshirt with built in ear buds. Awesome! It takes five minutes to untangle ear buds when you pull them from a drawer. Hoodiebuddie solves that problem. Slip on your sweatshirt, plug in your MDS (music delivery system--I just made that up), and away you go. Slick.
Marijuana: Less than three days until cannabis will be legal in Colorado and Washington State. Morally I could care less. If you approve of/like pot and you live in a state in which it is legal, light up. If you don't approve, then don't. Simple. Economically, I bet the opening of legal marijuana shops in those states mark a significant rise in revenue, and frees up cops to do more important things (like ticket speeders?).
Small World: Played Small World with my gaming group for the umpteenth time yesterday. Initially I resisted the lure of the tiny planet, but now I must say that I'm all in. Gamers, even wargamers, looking for a fascinating, fun, yet lite strategy game to share with their families could do much worse. Is it better than a nail-biting World at War scenario? Hell. No. But until I design a cool way to play World at War with a bunch of people, Small World is gonna get more play time.
Best Friends Forever: The family watched this gem again last night. My third time, my wife's second time, and the daughters/boyfriend first time. It's great every time. To quote the movie's promo:
The film was Brea Grant's (actor/director/writer) Kickstarter project, and raised $81,797. Watch the film, and compare your enjoyment to what you feel after sitting through some of the brainless multi-million dollar action flicks and romantic comedies that Hollywood churns out.
Feast of the Holy Family. This weekend is the feast of the Holy Family. Just wanted to take the chance to give a shout out to God, and the family with which he has blessed me.
See all y'all (the correct plural of the word) tomorrow.

BEST FRIENDS FOREVER is a clever dark comedy and heartfelt road trip buddy film wrapped in an apocalyptic disaster story, with two badass girls. Harriet, a perpetually optimistic comic-book artist, dreams of escaping her past in Los Angeles and hits the road for a new life in Austin, Texas. She drags Reba, her seemingly devil-may-care BFF, along for the ride.
