New Moon, New Year, What's on Tap?

It's New Year's Eve. The next time I post to this blog, it'll be a shiny new year, yet not only a shiny new year, but also one with a new moon in the first hour. That almost never happens. It's a big deal, and signifies a start of great new things.  Here's what I have on tap.

On the writing front I have several projects that I'll bring to fruition. First off, I'm planning a rethink and rewrite of Everyone Dies in the End. The new look novel will be much shorter--a novella really. I'm also shopping a new cover. Something a bit more striking. If the project resonates with readers, it might be the beginning of a series.

I'm going to do the same thing with A Craving for Blood. Not so much a shortening, as a rewrite and edit. I love the setting of the book, and I love the story. Mechs versus tanks, an Indian tribe fighting against the white men that have oppressed it for hundreds of years, the concept of genetic assassins, it's cool stuff. Looking for a new cover there. I'll probably include a couple of new scenes.

I also have a short story in the hopper. It involves an Iraqi tank battalion. It involves time travel. Sorry, I just can't seem to stay away from that juxtaposition of gritty combat and paranormal elements.
Makes you want to howl, no?

Finally, there will be a new novella. I don't want to reveal too much on that. Suffice to say that it will stay in the #twistedcombat genre.

On the design front, I'll wrap up Heroes of the Pacific, move on to complete Stalin's Triumph with Sean Dreulinger, and then focus on a couple as-of-yet-unannounced projects.

BTW, I'd love to get fluent in Windows Moviemaker. I feel that trailers for games and books help immeasurably. Anyone who can help/make me smart (a real challenge), feel free to contact me.

Okay, that's it for me. I hope you have a bunch of new things on tap also. I'd like to hear about them; feel free to post your resolutions, projects, and thoughts below

See you next year.
