I said "semi" Dammit.
Back from Historicon. Sorry that I missed Fiction Friday, but as I wrote earlier, this blog is "semi" daily.
Matrix Games hosted me for the trip up to Fredericksburg. Although Lock 'n Load Publishing is a board game publisher, we are a computer game developer. In short, that means that Matrix publishes our upcoming Heroes of Stalingrad. The trip was a whirlwind, Matrix had every minute booked with presentations, food, entertainment, laughs, and beer. Other companies would do well to model their hosting of press and developers after Matrix's effort.
On the down side, Historicon is waning. I'm sure they have statistics to show otherwise, but as Mark Twain wrote, "There are lies, dam lies, and statistics." There were less major vendors, and the ones I spoke with claimed to be selling less product. I'm not an economist, but it seems that "Con" niche industry hasn't benefitted from the allegedly recovering economy. That, by the way, is the same report I received from my friends attending Origins.
I'm off to paint a deck. See you tomorrow.

I'm really looking forward to the computer version of LnL. I hope it comes with a scenario editor.
