On a Yellow Beast, the Green Cards, and Sierra Hull
Today’s blog is short. I’m taking the Yellow Beast (my Mini
S, with after market super charger pulley, header, etc) to the dealer for
maintenance. It’s a four to five hour ordeal, so let’s keep the writing portion
of today’s program brief.
I live on the Crooked
Road , a musical trail that arguably birthed
bluegrass music. I've lived here for fifteen years, and during that time have
become quite a fan of the genre. Yeah, I know what you guys are thing,
"Country music?! I hate country music." But bluegrass isn't country. Certainly,
the country stars and starlets of today can trace their roots to bluegrass,
but by the same token Jack White can trace his roots to Buddy Holly.
Here are two bands/personas that embody the modern wave of bluegrass, called newgrass, The Green Cards and Sierra Hull. Give the videos below a listen. Even better, support them by buying an album.
