Are You Building Worlds, Sleeping Enough, Being True to Yourself?
Wanted to share and comment on three helpful
articles today. First up is a true,
so completely flipping true, article on sleep and how it relates to productivity.
In some weird, twisted way, not sleeping has become a badge of honor in our
society. I wake early, but not by choice. I make up for that by catching a nap
during the day. This article is just one pebble on the mountain of new research
that shows the more sleep you get, the more work you'll accomplish. Bottom line, if you feel tired, take a nap, don't brag about your lack of sleep. Find out more at Sleep as a Competitive Advantage.
Life Hack is an interesting site. I do, however,
often shy away from any article that has a woman (they never use a guy for
this) staring dreamily into the distance. There is no dreamy stare in my world
and I KNOW I'm true to myself, or at lest to my talents. Find out if you are
right here, 10 Signs That You're Leading the Life That is True to Yourself.
Finally some good advice from Fantasy Faction,
who routinely turn down my short stories. Too many writers want to jump into
the action, romance, sex, or whatever, before they set the scene, or build the
world. This piece speaks to the importance of building your fictional world. Don't neglect the Landscape.
