The World at War Compendium

Alrighty then, friends of the company have been asking for something like this for quite a while, and we are finally able to make it happen. The “it” that I’m referring to is the World at War Compendium. A huge magazine with over 100 pages jam-packed with World at War (WaW) scenarios, analysis and articles…. not to mention new maps and 88 counters. Better yet, there won’t be much of a wait. We intend to put the Compendium on preorder next week, and believe it will start shipping about the same time as All Things Zombie. That’s around November 14th (We hope it's ready by the 14th) for those of you who haven’t been following along. The guide includes every World at War scenario and most World at War articles published in the first seven issues of Line of Fire.

Why only most articles? We figured you didn’t need to read a Blood and Bridges preview. Additionally the Compendium boasts over 30 pages of new material, including new scenarios, a guide to Soviet player tactics, and the long-awaited World at War timeline. Additionally, there are six 8.5” x 11” 14 point card stock maps, which include all the WaW maps published in LoF and three new maps.

We did something that I think is pretty cool with the maps. The orginals were 8.5" x 14". Card stock isn't available in that size, so we chopped off the last 3" of each map, and used it as the bases for a new 8.5" x 11" map. Hence you can play all the original scenarios that used the 14" maps by simply butting the two 11" maps together AND you get 8" of new terrain, AND the maps are geomorphic. So, gamers end up with two West German 8.5 x 11" maps, two desert maps, the large-hex city map featured in Line of Fire 7, and a another brand new 8.5" x 11" map. All of them, with the exception of the large-hex city map are geomorphic.

But wait a minute, that isn’t all. There are 88 counters, which include all the counters from Line of Fire 1-7 and new Syrian and Israeli counters. So, that includes Germans, Americans, Soviets, Israelis, and Syrians.

Gamers can get the huge magazine however they want. Professionally printed with 14pt card stock maps and die cut counters, or as a print and play digital download. Even better, there are four buying options. Preorder the professionally printed product and get 25% off, wait until the Compendium is ready and buy a digital download (or professionally printed version at the still-reasonable full price), or buy it from your favorite gaming store. The choice is yours.

See you tomorrow.

Oh heck yeah, sign me up for the pro version! Where do I plunk down my money, Mark? Not on the site yet that I can see.

This sounds marvelous and a really good deal for those of us who get our LoF primarily via .pdf--we still can have the WaW maps and pieces in the best physical production format by ordering the print version of this compendium! And I like getting 8 inches more terrain! I'm ALL ABOUT THIS!
