What's Important

I'm in Seattle for a gaming convention. Actually it's a convention within a convention. Titled Lock 'n Load World, the convention features games that my company, Lock 'n Load Publishing, has published.  That's great, and a bit of an ego trip, but in the long run unimportant.

Jeff Newell and his pals have done a great job organizing a very friendly four days of gaming. I've played my games, I've played other people's games, laughed, and drank more than a couple of beers. Yesterday evening, while playing Heroes of the Pacific with Tyler Rousch, I noticed several other games of Lock 'n Load and World at War surrounding us. Not a swarm, not a dozen, but rather a handful of people rolling dice, laughing, and forgetting the real world for a few moments.

It humbles and heartens me to realize that I, and all the people who have helped me (and there are a lot of those), have been able to design and publish games that bring people together and put a smile on their face. And that is important.

Game on.
