Dark War Novel and RPG on Kickstarter February 9th.
Beginning at 10AM EST on February 9th, I'll run a Kickstarter for my latest novel, Dark War Retribution. Pledge levels, add-ons, and stretch goals include a role-playing game based in the Dark War universe, paper-back books, hard-back books, tee-shirts, autographed posters, and much more. Those who pledge first will get a special discount.
The Backstory

It's 1985
West Germany teeters on the brink of defeat. The American V Corps is all but crushed, and Soviet armored formations rush to the French border. In a small town near the North Sea, a temporary POW camp holds hundreds of NATO soldiers... and a terrible secret that could turn the tide of battle.
Welcome back to Dark War: a series set in the midst of World War III, thundering with authentic battles, screeching with the bone-chilling cries of the dark entities unleashed by the war’s massive bloodletting. It’s military horror at its best. It’s Dark War: Retribution.
But that ain't all... there's a RPG/Skirmish game too.
I love to design games and I can't wait to get these characters on a table, flinging spells (yeah, there's a witch in the book), laying down lead with an M-16, or smashing their way through their enemies with tooth and claw. Better still, my friend and fellow designer, Greg Porter, who has designed and published several role-playing games (End All Be All Role-playing System, Macho Women with Guns, and Guns,Guns,Guns.), is working with me to design a killer, yet easily accessible Dark War RPG. The RPG campaign lets you fight out the battles of Retribution. How fight? Like I said, skirmish-level. You'll control one character in a party of up to five in a side quest,
running parallel to the novel's story. Lots of combat for those who like to fight. Lots of story for those who don't. If you are interested, select the Gamer or (if you are lucky enough) the First to Fight level.
And there's art!
I've asked some artist friends to bring the characters and scenes to life. You'll see the results of their efforts in the book. Portraits like Katarina below, battles scenes, and more.
