I Found It! The Hills of Stanley is Done!
So, a couple of weeks ago I wrote about The Hills of Stanley, my first game design circa 1993. I had found the original notebook, rules, map, and counters for the first scenario. I knew, however, that I had the game somewhere. Yesterday I came across it tucked safely away in the corner of my much depleted game closet (See the 10 for 10 Challenge).
To my semi-surprise, I've found that the game is all there. All the maps (not all the maps are pictured below), all the British and Argentine counters, all the rules and all the scenarios that I designed 20+ years ago. It's exciting news.
What will I do with it? Not sure, but I am leaning toward publication. I'll have more news on that front within the next few days. But for now bask in the game's ugliness, and feel free to ask me any questions that you have.
I'll try to post an AAR, but I have a lot going on right now, and I'll have more news on that front within the next few days (did I already say that?). Anyway here are some pics. Let me know what you think.
