Social Media for Kickstarter: Two Don'ts and a Do
Dear Social Media Challenged,
Two things NOT to do when you are promoting your Kickstarter.
1. Spam every "friend" (many of whom don't even know who you are) with your Kickstarter campaign that is only of marginal interest to them and then pull the campaign a day later and then start the campaign again a month later and once again spam everyone.
2. Spam every company page with your "action Rpg (BTW, RPG should be all caps) Android campaign" that is of zero-freaking interest to the war gamers that frequent that page.
3. In case these folks are wondering... social media isn't a magic wand you wave to make money. It is a time-consuming, yet important, part of every company's customer interaction that should be 80-90% strings free benefit to your customers and about 10% selling.
Have a nice Sunday.
Mark H. Walker served 23 years in the United States Navy, most of them as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal diver. He is the owner of Flying Pig Games, the designer of the aliens-invade-Earth game Night of Man, the author of Desert Moon, an exciting mecha, military science fiction novel with a twist, with plenty of damn science fiction in it despite what any reviewer says, as well as World at War: Revelation, a creepy, military action, with a love story, alternate history, World War Three novel thing, Everyone Dies in the End, and numerous short stories. All the books and stories are available from Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing right here. Give them a try. I mean, what the hell? The games? Well that's Flying Pig Games. Retribution will release in the summer of 2015.
