A Visit from the Wicked Witch of the West

So yesterday Greg Porter and I sat down to test an Armageddon War scenario. It was a sunny, summer day. At least it started out that way. An hour into the testing it clouded up. No biggie. Then came the lightning, and next heavy rain. Still no biggie, just a summer storm, right? Wrong. Next came a howling wind and horizontal rain. Rain so heavy you couldn’t see 18 inches out of the window. Then BOOM! The basketball goal is down. BOOM! The hundred-foot pine outside the window is down. CRACK! the power is out. BOOM and BOOM, two more massive trees fall. And then it is over. The whole, violent storm/tornadic activity, whatever you want to call it, lasted about four minutes. The power is still out, but we are fine, no real damage. Crazy.
