Blood in the Cut
Stuff that’s going on in my life and what I think about it.
What I’m Reading. Still reading The Crises. I’m not blasting
through this book like I have some others. I did make an interesting book
purchase, however. Storytelling in the
Modern Board Game: Narrative Trends from the Late 1960s to Today, by none
other than the internet’s best board game reviewer, Marco Arnaudo. This is a
topic that’s near and dear. For me, story makes the game. I’m looking forward
to reading this, although I’m not sure why they didn’t included pictures. Looks
a bit daunting.
What I Played. Quite
a bit. Tested a new ’65 Squad-level Battles in the Jungles of Vietnam scenario.
Played through La Résistance, a new dice and card game I designed set during
the German occupation of France in World War II. Finally, we gamed another Betrayal
at Baldur’s Gate adventure. Despite its 1.6K ratings on Boardgame Geek,
Betrayal is a tremendously mediocre game. Dull, dice on dice combat, which
frequently degenerates into a tedious downward spiral, and unbalanced haunts
ruin what could have been a great game.
What I listened to. K.Flay’s Blood in the Cut. Because it bites. Feel it Still because I just can’t
figure it out.
Quote I’m Pondering.
“Hard is fun.” Because ain’t nothing easy.

Give them a try. I mean, what the hell?

(Just so you know, it is not related to genetics or some secret exercise and absolutely EVERYTHING related to "how" they are eating.)
